Do I need a bookkeeper if I have an accountant?
Contrary to popular belief, accountants and bookkeepers perform distinctly different tasks for the businesses they serve. Bookkeepers are responsible for on-going maintenance of their clients’ general ledgers. At Davric, we provide:
- Compiling data on a regular basis
- Categorizing assets, liabilities, and equities
- Reviewing the general ledger for accuracy
- Reconciling bank statements against the general ledger
- Generating financial statements
- Analyzing the company’s financial data
Can you do my taxes?
We do not provide tax services. However, the work we provide in keeping your books up-to-date and accurate will assist your tax professional in preparing your taxes.
Do you serve businesses with under 100k in annual revenue?
Absolutely. We offer services for small businesses of almost every size!
How much does it cost?
Our base minimum rate starts at $500 per month. The frequency of the services performed, the level of activity and the complexity of the account increases the base price. Clean up jobs may be quoted at an hourly rate.
Do I need to clean up my books before I hand them over?
No, we’ll include clean up for you as part of our work estimate if you request this service. We provide current and historical clean-up and catch-up services.
Do you handle sales tax?
We can help you track the sales taxes you collect so you’re prepared to file and report at the correct times. However, we currently do not do sales tax calculations or filing.
Do you do payroll?
No, but we’ll ensure the details from each pay run are accounted for in your financial records and reconciled against your bank statement.
How do I get my documents to you?
Our client portal is the preferred method to place your documents. However, we also work with Google Drive, OneDrive, email, and snail mail. We can conform to any process that makes your life easier.
When is the work performed? Is it on a schedule?
Yes, we will work with you to determine the schedule. Daily, weekly, twice a month, monthly, quarterly and annually. We can customize to any schedule that you need.
When can I expect my financial reports every month?
Our goal date is the 15th of each month for the prior month closing. Situations that can delay this process are open items, documents and questions that are waiting to be received in order to finish up. If you don’t need reports, you can indicate so in the discovery meeting or in the questionnaire.
What forms of payment do you accept?
ACH, Credit Card, Snail Mail Check. Note that credit cards may carry a convenience fee. Prices quoted are cash prices.
When are my payments due?
If you are a monthly recurring client, payment is due on the 1st of every month. If you have a special cleanup or catch-up project, a retainer may be due to begin work and is generally charged in blocks of hours or on an hourly basis.
Do you do any training?
We do not provide training at this time, however we do guide and coach our client’s on proper processes.
What type of security do we have in place?
We understand how important it is to have trust in the company that you hire to manage your private financial information. We carry Errors & Omissions insurance. We also complete a yearly training on PII (Personally identifiable information) from the federal government. The privacy of our customers is the utmost importance to us and we won’t share your information with third parties. Any data that we come in contact with will be held in the strictest confidence.
